Woman among Birch Trees
Synopsis
Woman Among Birch Trees is a short film set between memory and moral judgment. Through the testimony of Melka, a woman who was a prisoner at Auschwitz before becoming a civilian auxiliary for the Waffen SS, the film explores the psychological transformation that power can produce when survival becomes the only compass. Far from offering simple answers, the film poses a disturbing question: Where does the victim end and the executioner begin?
