Filmmaker's Note
We have all experienced the awkwardness and anxiety of attending your first social event with your work colleagues; how will it go; will you bond outside of work; is it possible to turn acquaintances into friendships or even romance?
GROOVY is a relatable story of Mark - a shy, timid man - being invited to his colleague's 60s themed birthday party. Once he arrives, he is very much a fish out of water, and struggles to cope.
My intention was to capture the apprehension and awkwardness introverts feel when they are in a busy social situation. However, only by stepping out of their comfort zones can they, just like Mark, find someone worth taking the leap for.
