About the filmmaker

By Dan Guest

Dan is a filmmaker from West Yorkshire, England. His filmmaking journey started back in his childhood where Dan would write all kinds of his own film and television stories. As a teenager, Dan wrote and made his own short films with friends and went on to study Film Studies at college and Film & Media Production at university, where he made further short student films with friends and associates. After graduating university in 2012, Dan began work on his first 'official' (non-student) short film, Voodoo, with long-time friend, Mathew Kennedy. Voodoo went on to be showcased at a number of film festivals around the UK in 2014 and 2015, picking up an Audience Award and a nomination for Best Editing along the way. In 2016, Dan began writing a new short film, Screw Loose, and was eventually shot in the summer of 2017 with the biggest crew ever assembled by Dan on a low-budget. Dan is now currently writing his first feature film with the hope of acquiring funding to shoot in 2019/2020.
