Filmmaker's Note

Works of artist Gokce Erenmemisoglu are taut with conflict and yet expansive and visionary in their execution. As a visual artist, Gokce travels around the world to major urban centers and records images of the cities themselves and the inherent conflicts and tensions contained within. He describes these conflicts through photography and filming in a graphic way that catches the eye and invites an entirely new perspective on modern vistas and forms both familiar and entirely new. Other common elements and themes woven throughout his work include cultural encounters and the persistence of protest, whether subtle or overt.
