Synopsis
Kiara is a 17-year-old girl who recently lost her girlfriend Elpydah to suicide. Today she is auditioning for her dream dance school but the hallucinations that she sees gets in the way.

Filmmaker's Note
'Hanging With You' is about teenage suicide. Two young girls Kiara and Elpydah are trying to love each other in a world that does not accepts them. On top of these Kiara is chasing her dreams to become a dancer while Elpydah lost her belief about life completely and wants to live in a world where she can love freely.
We live in a system we can’t get full support. I hope one day we can all live in a world we can dance together…
This is a subtle film that gets into the chaotic world of teenagers and queer people.

About the filmmaker

Gülse Baştuğ is an Istanbul-born (2004) writer, director, and producer. Having had a passion for acting and cinema from an early age, she completed her film education in narrative filmmaking at the Prague Film School. Following her graduation, she returned to Istanbul and worked in directing and production departments across professional film, television, commercial, and theater projects. Her 2025 short film Hanging With You had its world premiere at the Film Festival Turkey Germany and competed in various international film festivals.
